Today our enthusiastic new World Kid Lit Month guest editor Charlotte Graver shares some tips on how to travel the world with kidlit in September.

Can you believe it’s nearly the end of summer? It seems like August has flown by and that it was just yesterday we were celebrating the longer days and brighter weather. Before we know it, however, we’ll be back to doing school runs and rooting out our woolly jumpers. A Pumpkin Spice Latte may even be on the cards … While we may be a little sad to say goodbye to the sun, it’s not all doom and gloom, after all, September is one of the most exciting months of the year. “Why’s that?” we hear you ask. Because it’s World Kid Lit Month of course! A month-long celebration of children’s books, authors, illustrators and translators from all around the world.

To celebrate the occasion, the World Kid Lit blog will be featuring daily book reviews and recommendations throughout the month of September and, having spent the past few months making preparations, we can promise you that there’s lots to look forward to! From stories presenting strong female protagonists to stories celebrating the beauty of maps, you’re bound to find something that takes your fancy.

We hope you’ll join us in celebrating by reading and sharing. Tell a friend, a person on the bus, a librarian, a bookseller, the Internet! September is #WorldKidLitMonth.
