Here at World Kid Lit, we focus on improving access for young readers to inclusive world literature.
But what do we mean by world literature for young people?
It could be …
- Books translated into English from another language
- Books from a country besides your own, e.g. books first published in English outside of the UK or USA
- Books set in countries other than UK and USA, by authors with lived experience of that country and culture
- Bilingual books, and stories and poetry exploring bilingual and mixed heritage families
World literature can mean different things to different people. What does it mean to you?
